Welcome to the official Strike a Pose website

In 1990, seven young male dancers joined Madonna on her most controversial Blond Ambition Tour. On stage and in the iconic film Truth or Dare they showed the world how to express yourself. 25 years later, they reveal the truth about life during and after the tour in the documentary Strike a Pose. The film is a dramatic tale about overcoming shame and finding the courage to be who you are.

The true feelings behind the scenes

On stage everything looked smooth and great, during the Blond Ambition Tour in 1990. But the dancers in Madonna’s ‘Truth or Dare’ had truths of their own. In this article of the New York Times, the dancers express themselves, like Salim Gauwloos does. “I look petrified,” Salim says in the film as he watches the old footage of himself play on a computer screen. “I can’t wait to get offstage.”

Must-see movie according to The New York Times

The New York Time’s film editor Stephanie Goodman placed Strike a Pose on top of her list of three ‘must-see’ movies at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Strike a Pose is a call to stand up for yourself

Rolling Stone Magazine Germany wrote about the movie at the Berlinale: “the likely audience favorite at this year” and “even if there are many great dance scenes to be seen in Strike a Pose, this film is much more than an ode to Voguing: it is a call to stand up for yourself”.
